Jay and I just recently celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary and to celebrate we went out dinner.  Unfortunately, the babysitter fell through and Anna had to come with us.  We did have a fun time.  We went to Macaroni Grill.

Anna took this pic. I think it turned out great.

Here's our Anna. She was so good when we went out for our Anniversary.

Here's my new purse. I just love the color. I think a new purse is a requirement for spring.

I also am overdo with some stamping projects so here are some that I have made recently.

A great little treat bag for Easter. I just love this Sale-a- Bration set. All Images (c) Stampin' Up!

I had also mentioned that Ben recently got his hair cut.  So here’s a quick shot of him.

You can see his eyes :)

You can see his eyes 🙂

I have added some new buttons to the sidebar on my blog.  Check out the cattys.  Just let me warn you –they are addicting.  The just love the new Mini Catalog.  The Matchbox Die is just wonderful.  Now I am just waiting for my Big Shot to get here so I can play with it.  If you’re not familiar with the Big Shot-it’s a die cut tool.  Just check out the video I have of it on my side bar.

I also ordered and received the scallop oval punch and matching stamp set and white satin ribbon. I love them all.  I will post some samples soon.  If you come to my Friends and Neighbors Night on April 18th from 5-8 pm, you will get your chance to play with them, too.

Just a quick family update:  Anna is playing soccer and her first game is April 5th.  It should be fun.  Ben got his hair cut last night.  I REPEAT – BEN GOT HIS HAIR CUT LAST NIGHT!!!  I will have to get a pic soon.  I would have liked it a little bit shorter but it got cut so I’m not complaining.  I am still running every other night–got to keep training for the Gallop.

So, I needed a way to separate Studio JCB from the rest of the basement without major construction.  So the idea of a room divider was born.  My first thought was to buy shelving and then hinge them together.  Then I could decorate the shelves with Decor Elements and cards.  I went to Lowes and bought what I thought I needed and brought it home.  Jay took one look at the stuff and laughed at me.  He said it would be to heavy and would fall on someone’s head.  So after purusing the web, I came up with the plan to use PVC pipe and fabric.  It would be light enough that if it does fall on a head it wouldn’t do any damage.  So the next day we headed back to Lowes and returned the shelving and bought PVC pipe and fittings.

We used: 1″ diameter pipe (4 10′ long sections), 4 corner connectors, 4 end caps, 2 4-way connectors, and pvc cement.

My divider is 6’x6′ so we cut the top and side pieces at 6′.

The bottom has the legs so we cut 6  10″ pieces (2 for the ends and 4 for the legs) then attached the 4-way connectors and measured for the middle piece after putting it together.

After making sure everything was straight, all pieces except the top were cemented.

I bought fabric that coordinated with my newly made fabric bulletin boards and sewed a basic hem on three sides and a pocket on the top for the pipe to fit through.  I slid the fabric on and reattched the top pipe.   All done in just a couple of hours.  I think it turned out great.

and that means that Spring Break is almost over.  It has been a very busy week for me.  Today was Stamp Club at Deb’s House.  We made three great cards.  Then I went downtown and met my husband for lunch.  He took me to Molly Brannigan’s – the food was yummy.   Then I got to meet his co-workers.  They all seemed very nice.  He fits in good – if you know what I mean.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to post the how to pics of the room divder this weekend – Jay said it was a weekend project so I’m going to hold him to that.  Below are pics of the fabric for the divider and the Decor Element from Stampin’ Up! that I applied to my cabinet (It was so easy.)

Here are some simple cards and projects that I have done the past day.

I’m still not done but its a good start.  I have some Decor Elements (vinyl accents meant for home decorating) coming from Stampin’ Up that need to get up on the walls and cabinet.  And I’m making a room divider (with PVC and fabric–I’ll post pics of how when its completed) for the other side of the room.  So we don’t have to look at all the kid mess while we’re stamping.  Also included are some recent cards I’ve made. Enjoy.

VSN is a great way to get stamping after a slump. Although I didn’t do every challenge, I did enough to get things going again. I also realized that my sense of style has evolved and I NEED NEW STAMPS. My SU Demo will be glad to hear that. So let me show you what I did:

Paper: dollar spot at Target; Accessories: some white twill ribbon; Stamps: Circle of Friendship (SU); Tools: scallop punch (SU), 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 circle punches (SU).

This is a yummy chocolate wrapper. Who wouldn’t love to get this treat.

Criss-Cross Card

Stamps: Season of Joy (SU), On the Spot (SU); Paper: Bordering Blue, So Saffron, DSP (all SU); Accersories: paper flowers, black ribbon (SU)

I really like this criss-cross card with the insert. It would make a great invitation.

Stamps: Season of Joy; Paper: Cameo Coral, So Saffron (all SU)

This is one of my two favorites from VSN. Isn’t it just a great Thinking of you card.

Stamps: Season of Joy; Paper: River Rock, Rose Red, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip;Other: Stickles

This one is other favorite. The flower just glitters and has that touch of bling that every girl needs.

I really need more stamps in the style of Season of Joy–This Christmas set can be used for so much more, but I just need more stamps.
