I know, I know..It’s been a very long time. I am trying to set aside the same time every week to jot down a short post to everyone updated and to post pics and some great creations. My most recent news is Anna’s 8th Birthday.  We took a trip to NYC and spent most of the time at the American Girl Place.  It was great.

Thought you would enjoy some Easter and misc pics.  Jay and I went out with some friends last night and had a very good time.  Anna spent the night at a friends and then went to Disney on Ice with them today.  We let Ben stay home by himself last night.  He played on the XBox the whole time.  I don’t even think he knew we were gone.

dscn0352Me all dolled up and ready to go out.  Do you see the shoes?

Just a quick post to wish wish everyone a very blessed Easter. The kids found their baskets. It took them awhile because they were hidden in their bedroom closets not downstairs like normal. They still haven’t found all the eggs. I’m sure we’ll still be finding them at Christmas. I’ll post some pics later.

Jay and I just recently celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary and to celebrate we went out dinner.  Unfortunately, the babysitter fell through and Anna had to come with us.  We did have a fun time.  We went to Macaroni Grill.

Anna took this pic. I think it turned out great.

Here's my new purse. I just love the color. I think a new purse is a requirement for spring.

I also am overdo with some stamping projects so here are some that I have made recently.

I had also mentioned that Ben recently got his hair cut.  So here’s a quick shot of him.

You can see his eyes :)

I have added some new buttons to the sidebar on my blog.  Check out the cattys.  Just let me warn you –they are addicting.  The just love the new Mini Catalog.  The Matchbox Die is just wonderful.  Now I am just waiting for my Big Shot to get here so I can play with it.  If you’re not familiar with the Big Shot-it’s a die cut tool.  Just check out the video I have of it on my side bar.

I also ordered and received the scallop oval punch and matching stamp set and white satin ribbon. I love them all.  I will post some samples soon.  If you come to my Friends and Neighbors Night on April 18th from 5-8 pm, you will get your chance to play with them, too.

Just a quick family update:  Anna is playing soccer and her first game is April 5th.  It should be fun.  Ben got his hair cut last night.  I REPEAT – BEN GOT HIS HAIR CUT LAST NIGHT!!!  I will have to get a pic soon.  I would have liked it a little bit shorter but it got cut so I’m not complaining.  I am still running every other night–got to keep training for the Gallop.

So, I needed a way to separate Studio JCB from the rest of the basement without major construction.  So the idea of a room divider was born.  My first thought was to buy shelving and then hinge them together.  Then I could decorate the shelves with Decor Elements and cards.  I went to Lowes and bought what I thought I needed and brought it home.  Jay took one look at the stuff and laughed at me.  He said it would be to heavy and would fall on someone’s head.  So after purusing the web, I came up with the plan to use PVC pipe and fabric.  It would be light enough that if it does fall on a head it wouldn’t do any damage.  So the next day we headed back to Lowes and returned the shelving and bought PVC pipe and fittings.

We used: 1″ diameter pipe (4 10′ long sections), 4 corner connectors, 4 end caps, 2 4-way connectors, and pvc cement.

My divider is 6’x6′ so we cut the top and side pieces at 6′.

The bottom has the legs so we cut 6  10″ pieces (2 for the ends and 4 for the legs) then attached the 4-way connectors and measured for the middle piece after putting it together.

After making sure everything was straight, all pieces except the top were cemented.

I bought fabric that coordinated with my newly made fabric bulletin boards and sewed a basic hem on three sides and a pocket on the top for the pipe to fit through.  I slid the fabric on and reattched the top pipe.   All done in just a couple of hours.  I think it turned out great.

000_0141So I just sent off my registration for the Guthrie Gallop 5K race in May.  As most of you know, I am NOT a runner but this is something that has been in the back of my mind for a while now.  I’m just not sure what prompted it to come to the front of my mind now–but I guess that’s a different story.  I am doing the program called Coach Potato to 5K.  Here is the link.  It starts out really slow and will make anyone a runner.  I am using the podcasts which are great. The music is just the right beat to keep up your pace. (PS-I also registered Jay but that doesn’t count because he’s been running for awhile now.)

Some of you also know that I have been doing Weight Watchers since the beginning of January now.  I have now lost a total of 22 pounds.  I know that not having so much extra weight is helping the running also.  I just love the Weight Watchers program.  It really teaches you how to eat healthfully.  No foods are forbidden so you learn how to treat yourself.  They also really do stress activity so you get a great healthy balance of food and exercise.  Now I just can’t wait to go buy new clothes!  And a new swim suit–I’m not dreading the summer this year.

I am working on the post for the room divider.  Hopefully, I’ll have it up soon.

Anna went to a Diva birthday party last night and I jusy had to post pics of her.  It took forever to just curl the small amount of hair that I did–boy, does she have a lot of hair.  I think she looks great.  Don’t you just love her shoes.000_0124

and that means that Spring Break is almost over.  It has been a very busy week for me.  Today was Stamp Club at Deb’s House.  We made three great cards.  Then I went downtown and met my husband for lunch.  He took me to Molly Brannigan’s – the food was yummy.   Then I got to meet his co-workers.  They all seemed very nice.  He fits in good – if you know what I mean.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to post the how to pics of the room divder this weekend – Jay said it was a weekend project so I’m going to hold him to that.  Below are pics of the fabric for the divider and the Decor Element from Stampin’ Up! that I applied to my cabinet (It was so easy.)

Here are some simple cards and projects that I have done the past day.

I’ve finished cleaning out the storage room in the basement.  I can open the door and walk in which is a huge improvement. Now the garage has a pile of garbage in it that we have to get rid of someway.  Why did I ever keep half of the stuff that I found in there??

Ben had a Court of Honor at Boy Scouts last night.  He was awarded his First Scout Class Badge of Rank.  Now its on to Star Scout–he needs to start on some more Merit Badges for this, as well as service hours and a position of leadership in the pack.  He has always said that he wanted to be an Eagle Scout from his first Cub Scout meeting.  He is well on his way there.

The Food Fair was at Anna’s school today and I went in to help out.  There is a different station for each food group which has small samples of a variety of foods in that group.  I helped out at the vegetable table and we gave out tomatoes, carrots, sugar snap peas, and mashed sweet potatoes.  It was really surprising to me how many kids refused so many of the foods and how many had never tried what I consider basic veggies.  But I guess that’s why we do this every year.

So hopefully I will have some stamping to show you tomorrow.   Since my studio is almost done and the basement is clean–I should be feeling very creative.

I also need to plan a Girl Scout meeting and do some on line Girl Scout training.  Its a busy Spring Break Week for me.
